Rain is falling intermittently in different parts of the capital. A light breeze is also blowing. It feels cool. However, commuters and pedestrians heading home are suffering.
The sky was cloudy since Thursday (March 21) morning. Although the sun peeked out from behind the clouds from time to time, there was no effect of the heat. Drizzling rain started in different places after iftar. Heavy rain started around 7:15 pm. Along with it, sleet was also seen falling.
People heading home and pedestrians are in trouble due to such behavior of the rain. Time News workers from different areas of the capital said that when the rain started, many people took shelter under shops, buildings and various establishments around the road.
After the sleet rain started, a man named Asadullah hurriedly entered the garage of a house in the Tikatuli area of the capital with a private car. He got into an argument with the doorman as he was not allowed to bring outside cars inside.
The highest rainfall in the country of 56 millimeters was recorded in Dinajpur in the last 24 hours. During this time, 34 millimeters of rain fell in Rangpur, 35 in Rajarhat in Kurigram, 30 in Dimla in Nilphamari and 13 millimeters in the capital Dhaka.
According to the Meteorological Office, on Thursday, some places in Khulna, Barisal, Chittagong and Sylhet divisions and a few places in Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka and Mymensingh divisions may experience windy weather and thundershowers.
Daytime temperatures may increase slightly across the country and night temperatures may decrease. However, rain may decrease slightly from Friday.
